Kid-friendly vacations

Spring Break just passed and either you and your kids took a nice trip somewhere or you wanted to. Now is the time to start planning early for a summer getaway. If you’re a parent, you’ll want to plan activities that your kids (and yourself) will enjoy. While relaxing at a spa may be your idea of fun, theirs is a day at Disneyland! There are more options to kid-friendly vacations other than amusement parks, though. However don’t discount them either, there are some great packages that can get you a good deal on hotel, amusement park and food for a good rate.
You can’t go wrong with a beach, especially if its your kids’ first time, they’ll be thrilled! Make sand castles, play beach volleyball and swim close to the shore. There is something for everyone at the beach. Another idea is to go camping. The kids can go fishing or help build a campfire and make s’mores. If anything, you can always do something local like a science museum for kids or a county fair!
Working mom

I know how hard the days now and its one reason why there are lots of moms who still choose to work.
Being a working mom isn’t that easy task at all. Imagine, you need to balance the time between work and family. It will also becomes harder when you don’t have maids to help you do the household chores.
I know the difficulty these mothers were experiencing cause my mom used to be one of them. She woke up so early to clean the house, and do the laundry. She even prepares our breakfast before going to work and even she’s at work she checks on us from time to time. And afte her work she cooks our dinner and see’s to it that we do our homeworks. Aside from that she still manages to talk and play with us. Because of that we call her wonder mom casue she has able to balance the time for her work and for her family.
I think those are just some of the wonders of a working mom who’s so responsible to her family.
Healthy Easter basket gifts

Every year during Easter, parents will stuff their children’s easter baskets full of chocolate, sugary marshmellow chickens and sticky jelly beans… all designed to rot a child’s (or even adult’s) tooth. There are many healthy alternatives you can use this Easter to either hide in those little plastic egss or place in your child’s Easter basket as a gift. Here are some suggestions you can use:
-Fruit leather rollups
-Minature carrot cakes
-The colorful hard boiled eggs are always healthy!
-Fresh fruit dipped in dark chocolate
-Vegan S’mores
-Organic, whole wheat cookies
-Fair trade chocolate bunnies with reduced sugar
-Coupon to take them out for frozen yogurt
-star fruit
If you need some more ideas, you can always head on over to your local Farmer’s Market or even a natural grocer, such as Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s. They have a ton of fun alternatives, some even Easter themed that you can purchase and give to your child for Easter. You can then rest assured they are eating something healthier than a sugar overload purchased at Wal-mart!
Naptime for Mama too!

When I say mama, I am referring to the parent caregiver. It can be daddy or grandma or even cousin, so this may refer to you if you are taking care of a little one, even if it says Mama.
As parents of babies we tend to have interupted sleep during the night. In the beginning its feedings and diaper changes. It then becomes children running to your room to escape the monsters in their dreams or just to be near you during a thunderstorm. Maybe you wake up early to cook your family breakfast and start the day. Maybe you’re like me and are a wahm who stays up ’till 2am paying the bills. Sleep isn’t always a priority.
What you need to do is take a daytime nap. But baby or toddler or any little one down for his or her usual nap. Change into some comfy clothes and take a nap too! Believe me, you’ll feel so happy you did afterward. Your brain and body both get the rest they deserve and you can give back MORE to your family when you take care of yourself in the process.
Unique Momentos

I’m a big fan or preserving unique momentos of my child’s life. For example, during each holiday, such as Mother’s Day or Christmas, I head on over to a Hallmark store to pick up a recordable card. It’s pretty neat, you can record your child’s voice and then a touching song will play after the recording. Depending on what stage your kid is in, you can really preserve some good memories, such as them learning “mama” for the first time or singing a song they came up with on their own. One time it was his first babbling sounds I was able to record. Preserve this awesome cards, perhaps even having them draw on them first. It will mean a lot to you when you play them back next year!
You can also purchase recordable ornaments during Christmas time. I like to buy them right after Christmas when they are on sale for less than $3 each. They make great gifts or can be used the sequential Christmas with your own kids to preserve those great memories!
Colicky Babies

I know from personal experience that colicky babies are SO difficult to soothe. I often would cry more than my baby would during those episodes! I remember feeling SO frustrated and it was so difficult to go through as a single mom. Man those were some very tough times I would NOT want to relive. Here are some tips that may help you with a colicky baby.
1. Obviously you know not to ever shake a baby. If you don’t already know it, don’t do it. You could kill him or her! Take a time out from your baby by placing him or her in a safe crib or playpen for five minutes. Compose yourself and walk away. Go drink a glass of water or do some breathing exercises. But get some time away from the baby to regain your sanity!
2. OK now that you’re back with the baby, try the obvious stuff such as rocking and bouncing. I’m sure you’ve already checked their diaper and tried to feed them, but if not do these just in case. They also just might be too cold or hot so regulate their temperature.
3. Try an infant massage. Lightly rub the stomach to see if you can help the baby’s intenstines feel a little more free and can release gas. Often, this is exactly what colicly babies need.
Hope it helps
Potty Training tips

Here are some tips to make potty training go smoother.
1. Offer a reward if your child goes potty. Give an m and m if they go potty or have a sticker chart. I have even seen one family give a sticker each time the child went potty and place it on the potty chair itself to decorate it.
2. Dress your child in clothes that they can get down themselves. Do not put them in onsies, jeans that need unbuttoned, belts, or bibs. The best clothes for potty training are sweats outfits that they can easily pull up and down by themselves.
3. Never yell at a child who has had an accident. They are learning how to do it. Remember it most likely took you a while to learn this skill as well.
4. Do not start training until the child has an interest in it. If you are making them go, they may come to resent it and will not go.
Potty training

Often parents can not wait for their child to get potty trained. And who can blame them as diapers are so expensive. But if you are gripping about how expensive diapers are, maybe you should not have had kids. Let children get potty trained on their time schedule, not yours. If you are making the child go or are taking them every hour, then you are only training yourself. A child who does not want to do something will not do it.
A lot of parents think that once a child is 2 they are ready to train. Wrong. If they ask to go potty or show an interest in it, then that is fine to work with them. But chances are your child will not want to do it until they are 2 1/2 or closer to 3. Do not push it. I have seen several parents push it when they turn 2 and at age 3 they are still not potty trained and no where close to it. So instead of trying to save money by potty training them early, they waste money by buying pullups which are so much more expensive. So to sum in up, let children tell you when they are ready to potty train.
Terrible Two

My son will turn 2 by April. And God knows how much energy he has now that he can almost tear our house down!
Nah, I am just exagerrating. It is my hyterics that is almost as if our house has been torn down. You see, I am a neat freak or some others will call me obsessive-compulsive (OC). I can go on fixing everything at home and never stop until all things around me are in their proper places. And now, with my son’s new antics and inexplainable energy of turning our place upside down, my being an OC is put at test, and so with my tolerance.
But I guess when it’s your own child, you are up to a huge adjustment and I am trying. But most of the time, I can’t still stop myself from fixing eveything in place although I know that when he starts playing, the place will just go back in its original mess state.
Hmnn, I guess I jsut have to learn to live with it. Anyway, this is just a toddler stage. As long as he is happy… and so am I.
Childbirth experience

Pregnant women have their own expectations on their delivery day. Some of them have much worries while the others are excited.Expected mothers are excited to see their baby finally. Their dreams of seeing them real and nursing them were much awaited. But the worry of giving birth matters. The desire of having natural birth is practical. It is not expensive and the healing process of the wound is faster. So most mother wants to have birth naturally.
For those who have the case of having a ceasarian, the healing process goes up to 3 to 6 months. It depends on the recovery of the person. There lots of precautions like carrying heavyweight and cold air because it will delay your recovery. The stitch can be the one that dissolves inside or not. But discussed this with your doctor if you prefer one. I suggest for this one because after removing the gauze in your wound, the way of cleaning it is much easier. You can also choose whether the traditional cut or bikini cut for your stitch. It depends on your lifestyle and preference. Ceasarian is also pricey. You have to pay the professional fee of your doctor separate from the hospital bill. The fee is much higher or double for natural bith.
Whether it is natural or cesarian birth, the joy of seeing your baby healthy is the most important.
