I was watching Tyra Banks today and was appalled at the beliefs and notions women have toward one another. Tyra had a panel of two type of women. The first group, consisting of four women, all were single (as in unmarried) women who didn’t have any desire to have children. They believed they didn’t need a man to depend on or to give them their self worth. On the othe side were married women with children (or one woman who desperately wanted to be like them) who believed it was a woman’s duty to serve her man and create babies.
I could not believe the things coming out of these women’s mouths! For one, I totally agree that a woman shouldn’t have to find her self worth in a man. That is bogus. I also don’t believe that we are meant to serve a man or are created for the sole purpose of motherhood. I think motherhood is a gift and should be treated as one. Then, I also do not believe motherhood makes you less of an independent or strong woman.
