Trilingual Learning

It is a very useful thing to teach your child two langauges. When you teach them three, it is even better. From an early start I taught my son how to say milk in ASL first, then Spanish and now English. I can communicate the word in either of three languages and he understands what I am telling him. He can also communicate back the same three. I’ve even taught him a few more phrases and words in all three languages. More than anything, he is bilingual in both Spanish and English in most words and picks up things quickly. Seeing as I am not fluent in ASL, I have yet to teach him the extent of my own ASL knowledge or even anything close to being trilingual. Even so, this is a gift and talent that all kids should utilize to improve their language skills and their development as a whole.
