Some do nots of Parenting

There are so many rumors flying around out there in relation to parenting that need to be addressed. Some are harmless while others can be dangerous if employed. So read on to find out what commonly heard advice you’ve heard that is actually untrue.

Putting rice cereal in baby’s bottle will make him sleep better. NO NO NO, this can actually choke him! Don’t do it!

Children who go straight to walking with no crawling are more advanced. Well, not necessarily. They actually miss out on some motor skills needed later in life and some actually need to “learn” crawling later in life to “catch up”.

Babies cannot see color. Very untrue! In reality, newborns just have an easier time seeing highly contrasted items, with black and white being the highest contrast. They can, for example, see a light yellow and deep purple together.

So don’t believe everything you hear. Myths were created to scare people or make people feel better or invented by some bored person. They’re not always true.
