Traveling with infants and toddlers

Traveling with infants and toddlers is extremely challenging and daunting, and unless proper planning is made, could put the adult into serious inconveniences and difficulties.

The basic requirement while carrying infants and toddlers is to plan the trip well ahead in schedule, and have confirmed reservations. Stranded in a bus station or an airport with no tickets or having to run around for tickets and a crying toddler is a nightmare.

The second important consideration is to carry emergency requirements and essential items like medications, pampers, blanket, water, and preferably contact numbers of acquaintances and pediatricians to contact at your destination. It is also essential to store these items in an easily retrievable manner, in your hand baggage if traveling by flight.

While traveling, it is important to keep the infant or toddler under your control at all times, and use a child restraint if necessary. If sitting alone, it is important that the toddler sits in the aisle seat of a flight or bus, or in the rear seat of the car.
