There are some conditions that may present itself during pregnancy that would normally not be present otherwise. Here are a few of them and how to remedy them as well.

1. Migraines. The increase of blood and rush of new hormones can cause migraines to occur. These may be more severe than those you may have while not pregnant. Talk with your midwife or OB for a prescription medicine. You can also take a little caffeine right away, lay down and keep drinking fluids.

2. Carpal Tunnel. Due to swelling and increase of blood, pressure is put on the median nerve in the wrist, causing pain. This is carpal tunnel. Apply ice to the wrist or soak the hand in hot water with Epsom salts. You can also wear a brace to reduce the inflamation.

3. Groin pain. This is associated with the ligaments getting ready for the baby to come by stretching. The hormone ‘relaxin’ is associated with this. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but watch how you move.
