Pregnant- How can I break the news to my parents?

Breaking the news to your parents is a very hard situation to be in, especially if you are the only child. I was 19 years old, and the baby in the family. My sister is 10 years older than me, and did not have any kids She did not have plans for future children either. After not one, but two pregnancy tests, I found out I was going to be a mother. At this point, my nerves were shot, and so was my boyfriend’s at the time. I thought my life was closing in, and I prayed for a break- through.

Shockingly, I had to get the courage to break the news to my mother. I thought surely she would take this news hard. After careful thought I knew I needed to share this secret with her. My mother was amazing in her reaction, and even offered words of wisdom. I mistakenly assumed how my mother would react. In this very moment I realized I did not know my mother after all. She wished I would have waited to get pregnant, but encouraged me to deal with what was at hand, and was to come.

To make the story short, I did get that break- through I had prayed about. Do you remember the boyfriend I was talking about earlier? We have been married for over 9 years, and we have not one, but two kids now. What a break- through in life, and the relationship with my mother!
