Delivering a Premature Baby

Delivering a premature baby is something unexpected and a difficult situation for any woman. Not just for the pregnant woman, this is tough for the entire family. The matter of concern is that premature baby may be weak and the mother might have some complications. At this stage both mother and premature baby need extra care.

After birth, premature baby is taken to the NICU. And thus mother might not be able to be with her baby. This time is really painful for the mother. Sometimes, due to complications the chances of survival of such a baby are less. But some extra effort and extra care can save this valuable life.

According to the studies, when premature babies are brought home, warm and cozy environment will make them feel comfortable. Keeping them near the heartbeat will give the baby womb like atmosphere. Due to this babies will gain better immunity and weight.

It is important to feed the baby with breast milk every three hours. When the baby is in NICU, mother has to pump out breast milk and feed the baby. Delivering a premature baby is a different as well as difficult experience. But you must mentally as well as physically be prepared to take care of your premature baby.
