It is important that good fathers and single mothers who have stepped up to the plate to play the role of both parents are recognized for their hard efforts, love and support they have given their children over the years. Today is a day we celebrate our fathers and show them how much they truley mean to us. I am grateful for my dad as he was always good to me and my family. Now that I am a single mom, he is a great male influence my my son’s life as well. They are like best buddies and I’m so grateful they have one another as family.
Today we took my dad out to eat with the family and enjoyed a nice lunch at a local buffet restaurant. Afterwards we went swimming at the neighborhood pool for several hours. It was so much fun and it was a great way to spend a holiday away from home, especially in this summer heat. Yesterday we also celebrated Father’s Day. I bought my dad some baby back ribs and barbecue sauce from Trader Joe’s. The kids painted aprons and after they dried, the Trader Joe’s employees stuffed the pockets with condiments and delicious food to take home! What a treat.
